2023-10-25: Proper keeping of personal radiation dosimeters

The Radiation Monitoring Service noticed some users of its occupational radiation monitoring service took their dosimeters when travelling. In such circumstances, the dosimeters would record doses during the journey, including the doses received at X-ray luggage inspection, which may lead to high readings that are not due to the actual occupational exposure of the users. The Service would like to remind all users that the dosimeters shall only be used for occupational monitoring of radiation work. When not in use, dosimeters shall be kept at proper places and shall not be taken for travelling.
